Common Name: Halward's Silver Spirea
With its dashing clusters of bowl-shaped white flowers which gracefully contrast with bluish-green foliage, Halward's silver spirea is indeed a true beauty. Flowers bloom from late spring to early summer. Attractive to butterflies. Small, toothed bluish-green leaves turn into a remarkable coppery bronze in fall. This compact, upright shrub grows 2-3 ft tall and 2-4 ft wide. Easily grown in full sun to partial shade conditions in a wide range of rich, moist, fertile soil with excellent drainage. Suitable for low hedge, accent planting or shrub border.
