Ginkgo biloba Magyar

Common Name: Magyar Maidenhair Tree

Ginkgo biloba ‘Magyar’ is a strong, upright, narrowly columnar deciduous tree selected for its fast growth and uniform, vertical habit. Fan-shaped green leaves emerge fresh in spring, remain clean through summer, and turn a brilliant golden yellow in fall, while blooms are inconspicuous and not ornamentally significant. Its tight, vertical form makes it an excellent choice for streetscapes, narrow spaces, and formal plantings. Type: Deciduous tree Mature Size: Width: 10–15 ft Height: 40–50 ft (10-year size: approx. 20–25 ft tall × 6–8 ft wide) USDA Zones: 4a–8b Form: Narrow, upright, columnar Light: Full sun (best growth and fall color) Soil: Adaptable; prefers well-drained soils but tolerant of urban conditions Water: Moderate; drought tolerant once established Wildlife: Generally not browsed by deer; not a significant wildlife attractor Features & Landscape Uses Narrow, space-saving shade or street tree Strong central leader with uniform growth Ideal for avenues, screens, and tight urban sites Extremely tolerant of pollution and tough conditions Care Very low-maintenance and long-lived.
