Hydrangea macrophylla Blushing Bride

Common Name: Bigleaf Hydrangea

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Blushing Bride’ is a deciduous reblooming shrub known for its large mophead flower clusters that open pure white and gradually develop soft blush pink tones as they mature. Part of the Endless Summer series, this bigleaf hydrangea blooms on both old and new wood, extending flowering from late spring through summer. Dark green foliage and reliable reblooming make it especially valuable in colder climates where traditional bigleaf hydrangeas may lose flower buds. Type: Deciduous shrub Mature Size: Width: 3–5 ft · Height: 3–5 ft USDA Zones: 4a–9b Form: Rounded, compact Light: Part shade to morning sun Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained soil Water: Medium; prefers consistently moist soil Wildlife: Attracts bees and other pollinating insects Features & Landscape Uses: Excellent for foundation plantings, borders, woodland gardens, and containers where bright white blooms provide contrast through a long season. Flowers age to soft blush tones and are useful for fresh-cut arrangements. Care: Plant in part shade with fertile, organic-rich soil that remains evenly moist. Because it blooms on both old and new wood, pruning is limited to removing winter-damaged stems in spring. Mulch roots to conserve moisture and improve winter protection.
